Series Premiere: Living With Ed

Ed Begley Jr. and his wife, Rachelle, are opening up their incredibly “green” home to us in this new reality show. In the first episode, we got to see their two diametrically opposed views on conservation and the environment. He is completely committed to saving energy and helping the environment, she seems much more committed to shopping.

Ed explained some of his pet household projects (solar panels on the roof, growing his own organic veggies, using a solar oven, etc.) but Rachelle seems unfazed by it all.

He stands outside her shower with a stopwatch telling her how long she’s been in there and how many gallons of water she’s used. She takes her time and enjoys her shower.

They talk about how they have stayed married for 13 years so far, and one can only wonder how. As someone whose views fall somewhere between those of either Begley, I may tune in from time to time to get Ed’s tips for saving energy, etc. but I get impatient simply watching people bicker.

Although it has some interesting things about it, this show just didn’t grab me as I thought it would. But don’t take my word for it, tune in and give it a try to make your own decision. And leave me a comment to let me know what you thin of it. I’m interested!
